概要
Descriptions
1988年，Sitmar Cruisesによって発注され，イタリアのFincantieri Cantieri Navali Italiani, Monfalconeにて建造されていたが，完成前の1988年，Sitmar CruisesがP & O Cruisesに買収されたため，1990年の完成時には P & O Cruises社に引き渡された。このクラスのフリートには Crown Princess, Regal Princess がある。
処女航海はPiraeusより出港，のちにSouthamptonから大西洋を横断してカリブ海に移動し，カリブ海クルーズに就航。1992年，Princess Cruises社に移籍(船籍:Monrovia, Liberia)。後に船籍をHamilton, Bermudaに変更。北米海域を中心としたクルーズに就航。2002年に大規模改装を行い，Aida社に移籍，A'Rosa Bluと改名。2004年，Blohm + Voss, Hamburgにてさらに改装が行われ，AIDA blueと改名。2004年，Kiel運河を過去に通航した最大のクルーズ客船として通航。2007年，Ocean Village社に移籍，Ocean Village IIと改名。
2009年，Ocean Villageブランドの閉鎖に伴いP&O Australiaに移籍，Sembawang Shipyards, Singaporeにて2週間の改装工事の後，Pacific Jewelと改名してアジア・オセアニア海域でのクルーズに就航。2018年, シンガポールのOceaning GroupとTurnerが共同で2018年後期にCatoon Network Waveとしてアジア海域に就航すると発表されたがこの計画はキャンセルされた。2019年、インドのJalesh Cruisesに移籍してKarnikaとなるが、2020年、新型コロナウイルスの大流行渦中にインドにて解体される見込み。
