「あるかす」クラスの拡大改良型として就航。トラック積載能力の大幅強化や旅客設備の充実も図られている。1980年に船体延長工事が行われ，船体が12.5M延長され，トラック積載能力のさらなる拡充が行われた。また初代きそ就航後はロビースペースの拡充が行われた。1982年，太平洋沿海フェリーの業績改善対策の一環として設立された太平洋フェリー株式会社が航路ともに移管，移籍。1990年，ギリシャのストリンチスラインに売船。Ionian Seaと改名される予定だったが実現しなかった。1991年，ミノアンライン社に売却，この際，船名が「エロトクリトス」と改められ，＜Ancona - Patras＞航路，＜Ancona -Igoumenitsa>，＜Venice・Corfu・Igoumenitsa・Patras＞航路などに就航した。1999年，ミノアン・フライングドルフィン社に移籍したものの2002年まで引き続きミノアンラインの航路に就航。その後さらにヘラスフライングドルフィン社に売却，係船。後にデメテリオスジェネテートスに売船され，2007年，エンデバーラインの＜Brindisi・Igoumenitsa・Patras・Corfu・Cephalonia＞航路に就航。

The ship was built as a greater version of Arkas class with more capacity for tracks and passenger services. In 1980, she went through a major renovation, putting 12.5 meter block into the middle of the ship, providing more capacity for tracks. In 1982, she was transferred to Taiheiyo Ferry Ltd. and was then sold to Strintzis Lines in Greece. Later she was sold again to Minoan Lines. Minoan Lines renamed her to Erotokritos and put her on the international services, first on Ancona - Patras and Ancona - Igoumenitsa route, and later on the Venice - Corfu - Igoumenitsa - Patras route. In 1999 the ownership of the Erotokritos was transferred to Minoan Flying Dolphins, but she remained in the service for Minoan Lines until 2002 after a rationalization of Venice services. She was then re-transferred the owner Hellas Flying Dolphins. The company did not deploy her on their service, but put her on charter by Maritime Way. After almost five years of service for the Italo - Greek route, and sold to Dimitrios Gianetatos,which intended to deploy her on Endeavor Lines service between Brindisi Igoumenitsa, Patras, Corfu, Cephalonia. This happened in 2007 Spring after the return of the Erotokritos T".
